Safety starts on paper. Every participant completes these forms before live fire. Download, read, and bring them signed — or arrive 15 minutes early and we'll fill them out together.

Covers classroom instruction, dry fire, live fire, range visits, instructor-provided firearms and equipment, and any transportation arranged for the session. Must be signed before any live fire.

Contact and emergency information, shooting experience, goals, and any health or accessibility details that affect safe instruction. Kept confidential and used only for instruction and emergency response.

Range Safety Rules & Code of Conduct
The core firearm safety rules and range conduct expectations. Read it in advance — we'll go over it together and you'll initial each rule before we head to the line.
What the MyRangeBuddy release covers
The release names MyRangeBuddy and Bill Harris as released parties and is organized into distinct sections so you know exactly what you are signing:

Nothing in the release is intended to waive liability for reckless or grossly negligent conduct, which New Jersey law does not permit a business to contract away. The release applies to ordinary negligence only, to the extent permitted by law.
Participation at a third-party range does not make that range responsible for MyRangeBuddy's instruction, and does not make MyRangeBuddy responsible for the ownership, maintenance, operation, employees, equipment or premises of that third-party range — in each case subject to applicable law.
Independent range facilities
MyRangeBuddy is an independent firearms instruction service and is not owned by, operated by, affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any shooting range or facility identified on this website unless expressly stated otherwise.
When instruction or range time takes place at a third-party facility, participants are subject to that facility's rules, policies, fees, safety requirements, and waiver or release requirements in addition to any agreements with MyRangeBuddy. You will typically sign two separate sets of documents: the MyRangeBuddy release above, and the facility's own waivers.
References to shooting ranges or facilities, including Bullet Hole, Griffin & Howe, Cherry Ridge Range and other facilities, are provided solely to identify locations where the instructor has trained, shot, visited, or where a session may be arranged when permitted by the facility. All trademarks and business names belong to their respective owners.
Range fees, ammunition, targets, equipment charges and other facility fees are separate unless expressly included.
Minors & guardians
Sessions are for participants 18 years of age or older. If a specific session for a younger participant has been approved in advance and is permitted by applicable law and the host range’s rules, that participant’s parent or legal guardian must sign the release and the safety-rules acknowledgment, and must be present for the session.
